"We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold..."
Well, I've been basically ordered by Annie to update today, so here it is.
Big news! I bought myself a laptop computer, finally, after about a year of trying to wrangle one somehow. I picked this one up on the cheap at a Future Shop sale. It's a PC, Toshiba, and it works pretty well for what I need it for (which is basically Microsoft Word, the internet, and downloading/playing music). So basically this is my baby now, and will be treated as such from now on. My only problem is that for some reason Ares doesn't want to connect on this computer, so I'm either going to have to find something else to download with (because I'm not going back to that king-hell nightmare that is Kazaa), or figure out a way to get Ares working. All I've been able to do for music has been to rip some of my CD's.
Now, what did I do lately? Let's see...Friday night I did absolutely nothing (which was the first Friday in weeks that I've actually been home - the week before was Frank's/Keigan's and I didn't get home until 4:15 am that night...when you have to work the next morning, that can be a real bitch to deal with). Last night I went to Keigan's again, and brought an 8-pack of beer with me. It was a bit awkward at first (I won't get into it, those of you who know what I'm talking about can well imagine), although I did manage to kick Keigan's drunken ass at darts, but once Kyle and Mab showed up and we left to go get Jonap it was pretty good. We drove into Fairview, and basically waited nearly an hour for Jonap to get off work, then go pick up his shit at home, then go pick up his brother at some random house. From there we drove back to Sackville (taking 2 cars for some reason), stopped at Needs at 1 am and bought absolutely nothing, then went to Jessy's Pizza while 3 of them bought pizza. Finally we got back to Keigan's at about 1:45, a full 2 and a half hours after we left. Everyone was gone except the guys who lived there and two random girls who had shown up out of nowhere. Kyle and Mab and Keigan left real soon afterwards (it got really boring really quickly), and then Keigan went to bed, so it was me and Michael (the random German guy) and these two girls who had come out of nowhere. I was damn near bored to tears and ended up playing PS2 for about an hour and a half as the beer wore off pretty quickly. I got so bored that I ended up leaving for home at 4 am.
Conveniently enough, my grandparents were staying with us this week, and leaving today. My grandmother sleeps on the couch in the living room, and if anyone's been to my house, you know how close that couch is to the main door/alarm system. So I couldn't go in the front door without killing my grandmother of fright, and I couldn't break in through my window without causing enough noise to wake up the whole rest of the house, so I did the only possible other thing - I slept in my car. From 4:30 am to 9:30 am. Needless to say, my back is fucking murdering me today.
So here I am, bored to tears again. I'm considering going to the fireworks on Lake Banook tonight, but I don't know if I can get a drive out there, and I really don't know if it's going to be worth it anyways. I mean, how good can Lake Banook fireworks be?
Tomorrow should be fun though. I'm going out with some N-Trippers for Natal Day Football and Fireworks, starting around 10 am, meeting at the town clock on Citadel Hill if anybody wants to join us.
I lost the original NSSSA Wikipedia article (after 2 hours of work, thanks Internet Explorer!!) but I'm going to start it again this evening I think and plug away at it until it's done. I'll post the link once I get it up on site.
